Layaps live in the high isolated regions of
north-eastern Bhutan. Unlike other Bhutanese women who wear their
hair short, Layap women keep their hari long and wear a conical bamboo
hat.

A
couple making Bhutanese butter tea, suja. The tea is made with
salt and butter and churned in a long cylindrical hollow tube like
the one above. It is customary for a host to offer at least two cups
of tea to his guests.

Taksang,
the tiger's nest is a monastary perched on the side of a cliff in
Paro. It is said to have been built by the Indian saint, Guru Padmasambhava,
better known as Guru Rimpoche.
