Bhutan submits instrument of ratification for Nagoya Protocol
The submission is in keeping with the Bhutan’s commitment to the international convention on biological diversity. The Nagoya protocol was ratified during the 9th session of the first parliament.
Adopted on 29th October, 2010 in Nagoya Japan, the protocol propagates and ensures equitable share of benefits from genetic resources. A total of 92 countries in the world have signed the protocol of which 23 have already ratified it. The Nagoya protocol will come into force after 50 states ratify it.
