Celebrating His Majesty’s 41st Birth Anniversary, the Bank of Bhutan, Department of Renewable Energy, and WWF Bhutan launched the partnership on the Iconic Building project today. This partnership is aimed at driving the common goal of energy efficiency for socially and environmentally sustainable development.
The Iconic Building is a WWF network project, which is focused on energy consumption and efficiency measures in iconic buildings, by making electricity consumption visible via strategically locating viewing screens in places to invoke public curiosity by showcasing the energy savings brought about by energy efficiency measures – many of which can be easy to implement. To learn more about the global initiative and about energy efficiency, visit the WWF Cool & Solar webpage.
Bank of Bhutan now joins the Iconic buildings in Peru, Chile, Columbia, and Vietnam that have partnered with WWF to promote energy efficiency measures in buildings.
Over the course of this project of one-year, BoB as WWF’s Iconic Building will demonstrate the ways to take up the key actions for energy-efficient buildings.
The partnership calls on other organizations, corporations, and individuals to embrace energy efficiency in buildings by taking up the three key actions.
Understand your electricity consumption.
Reduce your electricity consumption with energy efficiency
Source your energy from diverse renewables.
Energy efficiency will help us to reduce energy consumption, save money and fight climate change.
