“Roar for Tigers Youth” Youth Art and Literary Competition

WWF Bhutan is pleased to announce an Art and Literary Competition for Bhutanese children and youth to celebrate the Year of the Tiger as a lead up to Global Tiger Day 2022. The competition is being organized to build awareness and understanding among Bhutanese children and youth on the importance of tigers for the future of our planet and people.
 

Eligibility:  

The competition is open to all Bhutanese children and youth up to 21 years of age. 
 

Deadline: 

The competition closes at 9 PM on 10 July 2022. The results will be announced on 20 July 2022 through email.  
 

Recognition:   

The top 3 entries from each age category from each of three competition categories will receive certificates and prizes from WWF Bhutan as well as have the work showcased at the virtual exhibition at International Tiger Youth Summit on 28 July.

Children and youth are welcome to enter all three competition categories.  
For participants under the age of 18, entries must be submitted by a Parent/Guardian on behalf of the child.  
 

Competition Categories and Instructions: 


Poster Competition 

  • Overview: This art-and-craft activity is aimed at raising awareness for tiger conservation through art. This poster making competition asks children/youth to explore their artistic and creative side by creating a beautiful artwork centered around tigers.  

  • Poster Size: 1 Standard Chart Paper. 

  • Medium: Crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint - whatever is available! 

  • Submission file: Entries to be submitted in JPEG format only.  

  • Age categories: Junior (till 14 years old); Senior (15 to 21 years old).  

 

  1. Poem Writing Competition 

  • Overview: In this competition, children/youth are asked to explore their language and creative side to write an original poem that celebrates tigers and their importance.  

  • Number of words: No more than 1000 words.  

  • Language: The competition is limited to English language only. 

  • Note: The poem should be original. Plagiarism of any sort would lead to straight disqualification. 

  • Age categories: Junior (till 14 years old); Senior (15 to 21 years old) 

 

  1. Short Story Writing Competition  

  • Overview: Stories have a way of staying with you forever. This competition asks children/youth to let their imagination run wild and write an original fictional story centered around the plot of a world without tigers.  

  • Number of words: No more than 3000 words.  

  • Language: The competition is limited to English language only. 

  • Note: The story should be original. Plagiarism of any sort would lead to straight disqualification. Furthermore, stories must not have been published on any website, self-published, broadcast or featured amongst winners of any other competition. 

  • Age categories: Senior (15 to 21 years old)
