VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT-Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of at least one project at WWF Mongolia. This role includes budget tracking, financial reporting, expense monitoring, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and project-specific requirements. Additionally, the position oversees the day-to-day processing of bank transactions, reviews financial supporting documents, manages advances to staff and other parties, and prepares tax and social insurance reports. All duties are performed under the supervision of the Finance Manager of WWF Mongolia.

Mission of the Department: 
The aim of Operation Unit is to mobilize project financial resources, provide efficient, effective financial, administrative and HR services to WWF Mongolia and ensures adherence to Finance and HR good practices of WWF Network Standards, and compliance with all local labour laws and other statutory requirements in Mongolia.
Major Functions: 
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of at least one project at WWF Mongolia. This role includes budget tracking, financial reporting, expense monitoring, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and project-specific requirements. Additionally, the position oversees the day-to-day processing of bank transactions, reviews financial supporting documents, manages advances to staff and other parties, and prepares tax and social insurance reports. All duties are performed under the supervision of the Finance Manager of WWF Mongolia.
Major Duties and Responsibilities 
Develop and monitor budgets in collaboration with project managers.
Track project expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments related to the project.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records.
Ensure compliance with policies, grant regulations, and local financial laws.
Assist in financial audits and respond to auditor inquiries related to the project.
Coordinate with procurement, HR, and other departments for project-related financial matters.
Prepare and enter day-to-day bank transactions for approval.
Prepare and submit the Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Social Insurance reports for both staff and non-staff members, ensuring the reconciliation of balances is completed by the end of each month.
Reviews advance from staff and non-staff in relation to approved budgets.
Maintains and archives the financial documents in good condition.
Maintain R3 and other financial reports monitoring system and records accurate up-to-date financial transaction data.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
Assist in preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and organization accounting and financial guidelines.
Maintaining electronic and physical contract management filing system at country office level.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Finance manager, Conservation director and Project manager. 
Profile
Required Qualifications
A university degree or commercial diploma in an appropriate subject (business administration and accounting)
Technical proficiency in financial administration, management and accounting
At least 5 years professional experience

Working Relationships:
Internal:

Interacts with the Administration team of the WWF MPO on a daily basis, and with WWF staff as required.
External:
Interacts regularly with local banks and local tax and social security authorities.
